1954 Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio Mobbed by Japanese Fans on Their Honeymoon Photograph (PSA Type II)

1954 Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio Mobbed by Japanese Fans on Their Honeymoon Photograph (PSA Type II)

Vintage photograph capturing Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe as they arrive at a press conference during their honeymoon to Japan in 1954. DiMaggio and Monroe are practically engulfed by a sea of fans and reporters as several Japanese official attempt to clear the way. Also pictured in the photo is Lefty O'Doul, who is standing in between Monroe and DiMaggio. After their honeymoon, Monroe traveled to Korea to entertain the US troops, while DiMaggio and O'Doul remained in Japan to run a series of baseball clinics for the Japanese players. The photo (9x7.25") displays a handwritten descriptive label on the reverse, along with a few handwritten notations and the date "2-6-54." There are a few small areas of light adhesive residue on the reverse from its having once been mounted in an album, otherwise the photo remains in Excellent condition overall. PSA encapsulated as Type II Authentic.
