1954 Marilyn Monroe Signs for the Troops Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I snapshot photograph of Marilyn Monroe during her 1954 USO tour of Korea. Monroe is pictured signing autographs for the serviceman in the mess hall. The woman pictured behind Monroe is Lefty O'Doul's wife. Lefty O'Doul and his wife accompanied Monroe and Joe DiMaggio on their honeymoon trip to Japan. When Monroe later traveled to Korea to entertain the troops, O'Doul and DiMaggio stayed in Japan to conduct a baseball clinic, but O'Doul's wife went with Monroe to keep her company. There is a credit stamp on the reverse that bears the handwritten name "Andujor" and the date "27/2/54." There is also a period pencil notation on the reverse. The photo (4.75x3.75") displays a few light creases and is in Very Good condition. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
