1954 Marilyn Monroe Visits the Wounded In Tokyo Photograph - Secretarially Signed (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph of Marilyn Monroe during her 1954 honeymoon trip to Japan. As documented here, Monroe took time from her honeymoon with Joe DiMaggio to visit wounded serviceman at the Tokyo Army Hospital. Monroe is captured arm in arm with two recuperating soldiers at the hospital, while members of the military brass look on. Following her honeymoon, Monroe traveled to Korea to entertain the troops. The blue-ink inscription in the upper left corner, and the Marilyn Monroe signature in the lower right corner are both secretarial examples. A "U S Army Photograph" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with an "5 February 1954" date stamp. The photo (7x5") remains in Excellent condition. Accompanied by a full LOA from PSA designating it as Type I Authentic.
