1954 Roberto Clemente Contract with his Fingerprints (PSA)
Historically important "pre-rookie" contract is from his time with the Santurce Crabs (Cangrejeros de Santurce) of the Puerto Rican Leagues. This was his last team before he made it to the minor leagues and the Montreal Royals in the Brooklyn Dodgers organization. This was before he was discovered by the Pirates and rerouted to Pittsburgh and immortality. Interestingly, the Pirates were not there for Roberto, their original target was pitcher Joe Black.Rare contract is blessed with incredibly early signature of Roberto Clemente as well as his father Melchor, due to his youth. Best of all, the contract contains the fingerprints (and DNA!) of both the young Roberto Clemente and his father next to their signatures. This takes this to a pantheon level on the memorabilia scale.The piece is nicely framed to 18x34" with matted photo of Roberto in his Santurce uniform. One of the rarest and finest Clemente signatures extant because of the early nature of it it is a pre-rookie 9/10 signature condition wise.
