1954 Willie Mays Ebony Magazine Cardboard Advertising Sign
The first one of its kind ever seen. Silk-screened sign is cardboard and essentially handpainted. Awesome image of Willie with Leo Durocher and his wife actress Lorraine Day. Blaring sign at bottom trumpets, "What's Ahead for Willie Mays?" Andy Warhol-look with day glo blue background and brilliant reds to make it all "pop" out. Measures 13.5x10.25" and is overall a very strong VG-EX. This was to advertise an upcoming issue/cover that was never released.
