1954 Willie Mays "The Catch" Photo Type 1 Photo
For any great play there must be an accompanying great photograph. Otherwise it is forgotten. Evidenced by Andrew Benintendi's catch in our most recent 2018 World Series. There is no greater evidence here. The better the photo the better the play. One of THE classic photographs in baseball history. This Type I was used in a book that year and that is detailed in the paper caption. The image is somehow dominated by Chesterfield so Willie Mays is so small yet so large.
