They faced an American team of Vic Seixas and Tony Trabert in the Wimbledon Doubles Finals and Rose and Hartwig won 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, and 6-4. After his career, Rose coached WTA stars such as Billie Jean King and Margaret Court. The silver-plated trophy is engraved "All England Lawn Tennis Club/ Wimbledon/ Gentlemens Doubles Championship/ 1954". The trophy comes with a matching wooden base. The base exhibits small areas where the paint has come off. Otherwise, the base is in very good condition.
