1955 Billy Gardner New York Giants Game Worn Jersey
Worn in 1955 by New York Giants second baseman Billy Gardner before he was sent down to the minor leagues, this classic jersey holds up very well, with the only flaw being the number change (from 15 to 44) on the back. The off-white home jersey has "Giants" across the front and "Gardner" sewn on a swatch in the collar. There is also some writing in the collar. There's McAuliffe size 42 along with Set 1 1955 and "3 in" tagging on the front tail. Gardner played parts of 10 seasons in the majors, though 1955 was just the second and last for him with the Giants. He would later play for the 1961 and 1962 Yankees. As a manager years later, he shepherded young players such as Kent Hrbek, Kirby Puckett, Frank Viola and Tim Laudner into the Minnesota Twins lineup, beginning the foundation of the club's two World Series championship teams to come.
