1955 Jim Gilliam Brooklyn Dodgers World Series Ring
The ecstasy and pandemonium that burst from Yankee Stadium as Gil Hodges closed his glove on Reese’s delivery swept down from the Bronx like an emotional tidal wave all the way to the tip of Brooklyn. As word spread fans were engulfed in cheer and jubilation, for after so much heartache had been dealt to them by their cross-town foes, victory was finally theirs. We are proud to present to you this 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers Championship Ring. Its elegant face boasts a pristine 1/2 karat diamond surrounded by twelve smaller stones (added by Gilliam) encircled by raised text that reads “Brooklyn World Champions”. On the right shank “Dodgers” appears in blue between “First” and “1955”. On the left shank the facsimile signature of Junior Gilliam, successor to the great Jackie Robinson and 1953 ROY, crosses over a baseball and bat design. This amazing 14K white gold ring, by far the most precious and scarcest memento of that magical moment, displays only the gentle wear that one would expect after a lifetime around the finger of number 19.
