1956 Brooklyn Dodgesr Black Bat
After their win against the Yankees in the World Series of the previous year, the 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers found themselves once again locked in a heated championship series with their hometown rivals. While they lost this rematch, the Dodgers played valiantly in what would prove to be their last World Series as a New York franchise. This bat, a 34.5 inch, 34 oz. black beauty, by Hillerich & Bradsby, celebrates that final NY championship series in style. A model only given to World Series teams (and executives), this bat is covered in the golden names of that outstanding team, in both print and facsimile signature. "Brooklyn Dodgers National League Champions 1956" is printed in green on the barrel, and surrounding it are the names of such Dodgers luminaries as Sandy Koufax, Roy Campanella, and Jackie Robinson. In EX condition, this model was distributed to very few people, making it a rare find.
