1956 Daryl Spencer NY Giants Game Worn Jersey
Utility infielder Daryl Spencer played 12 seasons in the majors, including his first eight with the Giants, which included the transition from New York to San Francisco. The vintage road gray jersey has "New York" stitched across the front in orange and black lettering, and the number 20 on the back. Spencer's name appears in black script on a collar tag, while a Tim McAuliffe tag adorns the tail, with stitched black lettering below it: "44 3 in 56." The jersey shows good use, including two small repairs on the back. Spencer was issued #20 following the trade of Negro League star Monte Irvin, who had worn the same number with New York. Two seasons after this uniform was worn, the Giants abandoned their fan base and moved out West.
