1956 Don Larsen Perfect Game Presentational Plaque

1956 Don Larsen Perfect Game Presentational Plaque

These plaques were given by Larsen to his teammates during the 1956 World Series. This one was given to Yankees pitcher Rip Coleman and comes to auction directly from the Coleman family. The plaque reads: "Fifth Game of World Series, Yankee Stadium, October 8, 1956, presented to Rip Coleman. With sincerest appreciation for your efforts and contribution in accomplishing the First Perfect Game in World Series history. Gratefully, Don Larsen." The Yankees played their home games at Yankee Stadium and defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers in seven games. The easel on the back of the plaque is broken but the rest of it appears EX with only a few minor dings.
