1956 Frank Gifford "MVP" Signed Trophy
Trophy in recognition of - and signed by - New York Giants great Frank Gifford measures just under 10" high and sits on a black 6x3.5" base. Plate on one end of the base is engraved, "FRANK GIFFORD - New York Giants - 1956 M.V.P." and is oddly positioned as the figural football player on the pedestal is running away from the reader (perhaps, as Gifford ran past beleaguered defenders). Signed by Gifford on the base in gold Sharpie, weighs 2 pounds, 14 ounces. The Hall of Famer led the league in '56 with 1,422 yards, leading the Giants to first place in the East Division and a decisive 47-7 victory over the Chicago Bears in that year's NFL Championship game.
