1956 Topps "High Grade" Near Complete Set (337/340) with PSA Graded
Near-complete set of 1956 Topps baseball, missing only three (3) for completion. This would be the last hurrah for large-format cards from Topps, as 1957 would usher in the smaller-sized cards that we still see today. Star cards and specials include: #1 Harridge (white back; EX+), 5 Williams (white back; PSA 7), 10 Spahn (white back; PSA 8), 11 Cubs team (gray back; EX-MT), 15 Banks (white back; NM, slight oc), 20 Kaline (white back; PSA 7), 30 Robinson (white back; PSA 7), 31 Aaron (white back; PSA 3), 79 Koufax (white back; PSA 7), 101 Campanella (gray back; EX), 107 Mathews (gray back; EX), 110 Berra (gray back; VG-EX+, oc), 130 Mays (gray back; PSA 4), 135 Mantle (gray back; PSA EX+ 5.5), 145 Hodges (gray back; EX+, oc), 150 Snider (gray back; EX), 164 Killebrew (gray back; EX+), 240 Ford (VG-EX, oc), 251 Yankees team (EX+, slight oc) and 292 Aparicio RC (EX-MT, slight oc). The majority of cards from 1-100 are white-backed; most of the cards from 101-180 are gray-backs. All team cards have the name "centered;" the three missing cards are #33 (Clemente), 121 (Pirates team), and 166 (Dodgers team). Overall, the set grades 8% NM or better, 41% EX to EX-MT, 44% VG to VG-EX and 7% slightly lesser. A very nice, near-complete Topps baseball set from 1956. Total of 337 cards.Part of The William J.
