1957 Duke Snider Brooklyn Dodgers Contract - Final Season in Brooklyn (PSA)

1957 Duke Snider Brooklyn Dodgers Contract - Final Season in Brooklyn (PSA)

Four-page fold-over contract between outfielder Duke Snider and the Brooklyn National League Baseball Club for the 1957 season, signed by each party. Duke Snider Brooklyn Dodgers player contracts are scarce. This is the first we have offered and the only Duke Snider contract we have seen from 1957. The contract, which is dated March 1, 1957, has been signed in black fountain pen by "Edwin D. Snider" (grading 10/10) and in blue fountain pen by Brooklyn Dodgers vice president "E. J. Bavasi" (10/10). The one-year contract calls for Snider to receive a salary of $44,000 for the season. 1957 was the Dodgers final season in Brooklyn, making this the last contract ever signed by Snider as a member of Brooklyn's beloved "Bums." Snider was one of the game's top sluggers at the time of this agreement, having hit 40 or more home runs four consecutive seasons entering the 1957 campaign. His final season playing in Ebbets Fields was no different, as he finished the year with 40 home runs, 92 RBI, and a .274 batting average. The contract (8.5x11") remains in Excellent to Mint condition. Full LOA from PSA.
