1957 Ernie Davis Signed High School Yearbook
Offered is Ernie Davis' high school yearbook from his junior year at Elmira Free Academy, where the tragic football hero was chosen for the first team All-Southern Tier Conference in all 3 varsity seasons: football, basketball & baseball. His name was legendary at the Academy while he was still a student there, and the yearbook, owned by a high school teammate, contains 6 great photos of Ernie Davis within. The greatest by far is the full body shot, taking up an entire page showing Davis in basketball uniform with the mascot, "Duke" Woyak. This page is signed in blue ballpoint, "Best of luck to you ('Rat') - It's been swell playing with you, Ernie." Signature and inscription grade "9" out of a possible 10. Other pages show him in 3-point stance with the offensive line, posed with entire football team and coaches, standing with the basketball team, and with classmates. Book is EX.
