1957 Frank Gatski Game Worn Detroit Lions Jersey
Elected to the Football Hall of Fame in the 1985 class that included other greats such as Joe Namath and Roger Staubach, Frank Gatski was a fixture central linebacker for both the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions. Though he played for the Browns for the majority of his 12 seasons, his 1957 stint with the Detroit Lions yielded a World Championship and would serve as the player’s swan song before he went on to scout for the Boston Patriots and become a coach for an Academy team in his home state of West Virginia. A blue jersey with Gatski’s number “52” presented on the front, back and sides, this game-worn jersey was draped over Gatski as he helped the Lions push against the Cleveland Browns in the 1957 NFL Championship game, currently the last time the Lions made it past the playoffs. Buttons still intact with washing instructions, Rawlings 50 and Lippman’s tags sewn inside front and an “H” sewn in on a swatch in the collar. Excellent game use with few small rips and game scars. Noticeable team repairs.
