1957 "I Love Lucy" Studio Sign

1957 "I Love Lucy" Studio Sign

Offered here is a double-sided sign that hung at Desilu Studios when they shot the final seasons of I Love Lucy from 1957-60. The name was changed to The Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Show and the format was changed to one hour episodes, yet the magic of the still-present original cast was retained. The marriage of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz was crumbling and they did this to save the most popular show in television history, if only for thirteen episodes over that three year span. A significant 48x25x2", it is double-sided and in nicely worn condition of character. Each side is hand-painted with gold and powder blue paint, the ultimate "Lucy" colors. In beautiful pastels, it is all-original on heavy wood in where it hung overhead from the ceiling of the studio where it was shot. Discovered of in all places at the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Los Angeles in 1983 for $60, it is one of the great finds in television history.
