1957 Louis Groza Signed Player's Contract
Groza was a true rarity, an outstanding offensive tackle who was also the finest kicker of his era and the first true kicking specialist. Standard contract pays "Louis R. Groza" the sum of "$14,500.00" for his services. At the close of the 8.5x19" folded page are the signatures of owner Paul Brown, Commissioner Bell and "Louis R. Groza." Back of contract has stipulation that the Browns "…agree to pay to Louis R. Groza the sum of $2,000.00 if the Cleveland Browns, Inc. get into the World Championship Game of 1957." This is initialed by both Brown and Groza. All ink and contract itself are NRMT.
