1957 Ted Williams Comeback Original Art by Bob Coyne - Published in The Sporting News

One of the most prolific sports cartoonists, Bob Coyne illustrated over 15,000 sports cartoons over his 47-year career for several Boston publications before retiring in 1975. This pen and ink drawing of Hall of Fame legend Ted Williams actually appeared in The Sporting News, as did many of his works. The definitive Williams drawing by the definitive Williams artist, detailing many of "The Splendid Splinter's" on-the-field exploits, it is addressed to "Taylor," who is TSN publisher J.G. Taylor Spink. There are lengthy notes in Coyne's hand, along with blue pencil. EX condition. Originates from the Sporting News collection sold at auction several years ago.
