1957 Topps Johnny Unitas Rookie Card Original Artwork

1957 Topps Johnny Unitas Rookie Card Original Artwork

The illustrious career of "Golden Arm" Johnny Unitas is one that will never be forgotten. There may not be enough room on this page to list all the accomplishments of the Baltimore Colts legendary Hall of Fame quarterback but we can start with his 10 Pro Bowl selections, four NFL MVPs, three NFL Championships, multiple passing records and his Super Bowl victory that is considered to be the "Greatest Game Ever Played." This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own the original artwork that was used to produce the final product of the 1957 Topps Johnny Unitas rookie card. The flexichrome process, in this case, resulted in two photos joining together to make one beautiful card with a Unitas portrait and throwing photo. The original artwork is on the left hand side of the display and on the right is an original 1957 Topps Johnny Unitas rookie card. Both items come displayed beautifully in a royal blue frame, white matting and royal blue inner. There is also a gold plaque that reads "ORIGINAL ARTWORK JOHN UNITAS 1957 TOPPS." Measurements are 8.75x16". The 1957 Topps #138 Johnny Unitas rookie card is one of the most valuable football cards ever produced, and is by far the most expensive single card of the Colts legend. Some sales of his 1957 rookie card have reached tens of thousands of dollars including one that just missed the $30,000 mark. Rookie cards signify the start to a career, and what better way to get your hands on a holy grail of football history than to own the original artwork used to make one of the most important cards in the hobby.
