Pair of items presented to famous composer, conductor and director Leonard Bernstein from the Mayor of New York City, Robert F. Wagner. 1) Heavy brass key to the city given to Bernstein engraved on verso, "Leonard Bernstein Music Director New York Philharmonic October 15, 1959." Gold leaf inscription on leather case lined with velvet. Bottom of case reads Lambert Bros. Jewelers New York. Key measures 6" in length. 2) Bronze medal 2.63" depicting a cherub like figure holding a horn & feather. Gold leaf inscription on case with blue velvet lining dated June 16, 1958, with verso inscribed "Medallic Art Co. New York." Overall EX-MT.
