Offered here is a game worn Yankees jersey donned by first baseman Bill Skowron during the 1958 season and possibly the World Series. Skowron was an All-Star for six of his fourteen seasons playing in the Major Leagues and helped win five World Series. Inside the collar is "Skowron 58" for the pivotal year he knocked in the winning run in Game 6 of the 1958 World Series, and also hit a three-run home run in Game 7 to propel the Yankees to a World Series win. The traditional "NEW YORK" is across the front in felt and is all original. Wilson size 42 tag on the front tail, and the original number 14 on the back was replaced with "67." Shows lots of use with a piece of material cut from the tail and a repaired hole on the left shoulder. Comes from the son of Garland Crowder, with pages of detailed documentation.
