1958 Billy Herman Milwaukee Braves Game Worn Jersey
The good news is that this was the actual jersey worn by Hall of Fame second baseman Billy Herman while coaching for the Braves in 1958 and '59. Also good is the fact that the "8" on the back is all original. Now for the not-so-good news: there are many, many repairs to the jersey as moths and/or other creatures clearly got to it before someone did did a nice job repairing the rips and holes. The Braves logo and tomahawk on the front, as well as the patch on the left sleeve, have been expertly replaced. In addition, the strip tag in the collar has been replaced. There is a Wilson size 44 tag on front tail. Despite its flaws, this is still a very displayable jersey with very nice eye appeal.
