1958 Bob Feller Cleveland Indians Game Worn Coach's Uniform Sourced from Orioles Broadcaster Ted Patterson MEARS A10

Hall of Fame right-hander Bob Feller was a teenage prodigy who skipped the minor leagues entirely and made the Major Leagues with the Cleveland Indians at 17 years old. Presented is his 1958 Cleveland Indians game worn coaching uniform. Known as "Rapid Robert", Feller had a blazing fastball. He pitched all 18 seasons of his career, 1936-1956, with Cleveland. He missed all of 1942-1944 and most of 1945 because he was in the United States Navy, serving in World War II as a Chief Petty Officer, leading a gunnery unit aboard the USS Alabama, and he experienced substantial combat. Feller had a lifetime record of 266-162, with a career ERA of 3.25. Because he missed almost four of his prime seasons in the military, he did not win 300 games, which he almost surely would have done if he weren't in the military and if he avoided serious injury. In 1940 he won the pitching Triple Crown. He was an 8-time All-Star and led the American League seven times in strikeouts and five times in innings pitched. Feller was a major part of the 1948 Cleveland World Series championship. After his career, Feller became a broadcaster, and the Indians' general manager Frank Lane had the Indians issue Feller this uniform, with his regular number 19, so that Feller could pitch batting practice and offer advice to players. The away gray flannel jersey has "Indians" in red letters with black trim across the chest. A Chief Wahoo emblem is on the left sleeve. On the back is "19" in red numerals with black trim. It has a MacGregor size "44" tag in the neck. Also included are the matching gray flannel pants. The waist has a MacGregor tag that shows size "36," Also on the waist is a tag reading "Set 2 1958." On the back inside waist is a tag that reads "2 36 23." Both the jersey and the pants show some wear, mainly in the form of some minor loosening of some threads. The jersey and the pants are in excellent condition. The uniform comes with a MEARS 10 Letter of Authentication.
