1958 Buddy Holly & The Crickets Concert Poster (17x25")

1958 Buddy Holly & The Crickets Concert Poster (17x25")

Designed in the classic style of British posters of the era, this surviving artifact of the Crickets only UK tour is in outstanding condition. The group was wildly received in each of the tour's twenty-five stops. In addition, a nationwide television audience was able to tune in to the Cricket's March 2nd appearance on "Sunday Night At The London Palladium." It was but several months after this Liverpool appearance by Buddy and his Crickets that a group of aspiring local teen musicians cut their first-ever recording; a rendition of the Cricket's "That'll Be The Day." Holly's songwriting style and arrangements would continue to influence them as their own style developed. Of course, little did Holly know that when he played their hometown of Liverpool in 1958, these same musicians would carry on his legacy years after his death when they became the dominant pop music force of the 1960's as the Beatles. Even the name, Beatles, was a tip of the hat to Holly's Crickets!
