1958 Russian Communist Propaganda Basketball Poster
Fourteen years prior to their tainted win against the United States at the 1972 Olympics, the Russian basketball team was promoted in this artist-signed propaganda poster that is distinguished by gorgeous graphics. Dated on the bottom below the translation of "Basketball" in big red letters, this extremely rare, roughly 23x34" folded poster was issued by the "Russian Republican Council Society" aka "SPARTA" and a legend below "Basketball" brags of the "unmistakable" greatness of their athletes. The first of its kind we've ever seen, the illustration features players in communist red with "C" on their jerseys. Displays as EX-MT.
