1958 Ted Williams Game Used Bat (36")

1958 Ted Williams Game Used Bat (36")

Historic hardwood was acquired from a gentleman who had served time as the visiting teams' batboy for the Washington Senators. His LOA explains, "…I was putting up bats before the game and noticed that the grain on the barrel of Ted's bat was starting to separate. I took the bat to Ted and showed him the separation. He took his fingernail and flicked off a small chip of wood that you can see missing from the bat. I then asked Ted if I could have the bat and he said O.K. I got the bat autographed by most of the Boston Red Sox players that day…" And sure enough, the chip of wood is missing on the back of the barrel of this signature model Hillerich & Bradsby O16, doing nothing to affect the display value or the twenty-two NRMT black ink signatures (no Williams, strangely) on the barrel. Faded number "9" in black marker on knob. Use is great, resulting in the grain separation that made it a gift for a lucky young boy.
