1958 The Adventures of Superman Original Script for "Superman's Wife" Episode

1958 The Adventures of Superman Original Script for "Superman's Wife" Episode

Great find of an extremely rare "The Adventures Of Superman" TV script. This episode, called "Superman's Wife," is the 100th aired episode of the show. A forty-page script by Robert Leslie Bellum and Steve Post. Based on the comic book hero, and debuting on television in 1952, the show became a surprise hit and ran for 104 episodes and is still running in syndication. In this episode, the police are trying to get the goods on the mysterious Mr. X. Then Superman "marries" Sergeant O'Hara, a beautiful blonde policewoman. Lois Lane is crushed to see Superman marry someone else, but it turns out the marriage was a sham, designed only to lure the Mr. X criminals into kidnapping "Superman's Wife" so that Sergeant O"Hara can infiltrate their organization. The script shows some wear with slight folding at two corners, a pencil mark, and what appears to be a small mark from glue, but overall it is in good condition with every word of the script clearly typed. To read this script is fascinating, as one sees not only the dialogue, but the settings and character actions described in great detail. What a wonderful way to see how an iconic TV show was created, and what a fine way to possess a record of its creation.
