1959-60 Oscar Robertson All-American Basketball Team Certificate
This certificate was awarded to the great Oscar Robertson by The Sporting News, in honor of his being named an All-American for the 1959-60 season. It reads "The Sporting News congratulates Oscar Robertson on his selection to the annual All-America Basketball Team for the 1959-60 Season as chosen by a panel of experts from coast to coast in a poll by The Sporting News. This certificate attests to the outstanding achievements of the recipient of this award, meriting his selection for All-America honors as one of the greatest basketball players of the 1959-60 college season," and was signed by J. G. Taylor Spink, publisher of The Sporting News. This was Robertson's last year with the Bearcats and he was simply dominant, as he was every year at the University of Cincinnati. He averaged over 33 points a game, was named College Player of the Year, and led the Bearcats to the Final Four. The certificate is in EX condition and is framed to 8.75x11.25".
