Hodges final All-Star appearance was well deserved as the Brooklyn fan favorite posted 25 HRs and 80 RBI that season while hitting .276 and leading the NL with a .992 fielding average. Joining him that day during his mid-summer classic curtain call was this exquisite ash example. Stamped on the barrel "All Star Game-Hodges-Los Angeles", his professional model H&B "H178" displays evidence of outstanding use in the form of several ball marks, cleat dents, and a light layer of pine tar on the lower handle.
