1959 Harlem Globetrotters Program Signed by Wilt Chamberlain, Abe Saperstein, Meadowlark Lemon and Others (PSA)
1959 Harlem Globetrotters program signed by Wilt Chamberlain during his one and only season with the club. The colorful twenty-four page program has been signed in blue ink on the front cover by Chamberlain (grading 6/10) and Globetrotters founder and team owner Abe Saperstein. Also signed on the interior by the following four members of the 1959 Harlem Globetrotters, each of whom has scripted his name in blue ink next to his respective image: Meadowlark Lemon, Clarence Wilson, Herman Taylor, and Charles Harrison. According to our consignor, the Globetrotters were playing against a team that included members of the San Francisco 49ers in 1959, and the program has been signed on the cover by 49ers team members John Thomas and Gordie Soltau. Many years later, our consignor continued the theme by obtaining the signatures of additional 49ers players from the 1980s and 1990s, each of whom signed on the cover, including John Taylor, Brent Jones, Steve Wallace, Harris Barton, and Bill Musgrave. A few additional signatures (illegible) appear on the cover and interior. The signatures grade 8/10 on average. The program (8x10.5") displays a near-complete split along the cover spine, light creasing, and a few loose pages. The name of a former owner is printed along the base of the cover. In Good condition overall. Comes with PSA LOA for autographs.
