1959 Jim Brown All Star Award
This leather maroon folio with elegant gold lettering was awarded in 1959 by the "Sporting News" to Jim Brown for making the NFL All Star Team that year. It is signed by J.T. Taylor Spink, the Publisher of "The Sporting News," in blue pen. It is encased in red satin, and on one side lists all the players on the National Football League All-Star Team for that year, while the other side congratulates Jimmy Brown (too familiar?) on his selection the All-Star Team. He is considered by many experts to be the player who stands alone at the top of the peak as the very best player in the history of the NFL. This period represents the height of his career and its pedigree is top notch, as this award was acquired directly from Jim Brown's son. Measures 9x11.5" and condition is EX.
