1959 Mickey Mantle Topps Advertising Sign

1959 Mickey Mantle Topps Advertising Sign

This one-of-a-kind sign was a prototype and never distributed. It came from a Topps employee living on Long Island and shows a proud kid who brags, “I just traded Stan Musial for Mickey Mantle!” Best of all, at the bottom right is a stack of rubber-banded baseball cards (perish the thought) with a Mickey Mantle on top. The only problem is that it is actually a 1959 Topps Duke Snider that has been “changed” into a Mantle. This is great on so many levels! The cards are joined by a facsimile signed baseball and some bazooka gum for laughs. In the original frame, there was something glued to the top that is no longer there - otherwise this is EX. Overall, it measures 24x21”. Also important to note is that it mentions Venezuela on the bottom.
