1959 Yoo-Hoo Bill Skowron with Tab (PSA NM 7)
Bill "Moose" Skowron Yoo-Hoo card. The 1959 Yoo-Hoo card set featured cards that were approximately 2.5x4.5", including a removable tab at the bottom. Five Yankees are included in the 1959 set. All of the players are photographed in Spring Training. The interesting thing about this shot is that Skowron, the regular Yankee first baseman, is not working out at first base, but appears to be playing second base. Skowron did occasionally play third base in regular season games. In this 1959 campaign, Skowron hit .298 with 15 home runs as the Yankees uncharacteristically finished in third place. On the card, Skowron is "quoted" as saying, "'Me for Yoo-Hoo, The Drink of Champions' says Bill Skowron." Card is PSA NM.
