1960's Bill Mazeroski Game Worn Cap

1960's Bill Mazeroski Game Worn Cap

In October of 1960, there was no man more hated by the city of New York than the one who wore this cap. His walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth in Game Seven of the World Series earned him the wrath of millions of Big Apple residents, and probably also earned him the Cooperstown plaque he was recently awarded. Very heavily used cap was worn a few years after Mazeroski delivered Pirates' gold. Sweat-stained headband has "New Era" tagging. Number "9" in marker under visor, and again inside peak. Black sharpie signature is tagged by Maz with the glorious "1960."
