1960-64 Duke Snider Game Used Bat (34")
An enigma wrapped in a riddle. Signature model Hillerich & Bradsby C117L is inscribed in perfect black sharpie, "Duke Snider, used my final year with Brooklyn," but this is impossible. The bat certainly dates from the early 1960's. There are also no ordering records from Louisville, though these records are known to be incomplete. The bat definitely has pro grade wood, and exhibits nice use. It's possible that the Duke meant that the bat was used in his final season of professional baseball, which would synchronize with the age of the bat. At the very least, it's a fine example of a signed Snider bat. But it's likely much more.
