1960 Hank Bauer Kansas City A's Game Worn Jersey
Tough-faced Hank Bauer, recipient of two purple hearts, two bronze stars, seven-time World Champion and star manager wore this jersey in 1960 at home game with the Kansas City A's. This rare white flannel jersey stands out in baseball history with a slanted "Athletics" scripted in orange-red and outlined in navy. The number "9", loosened on the right side, is on the back with three small holes on the verso. This is the same number that Bauer used starting in 1952 with the Yankees. A bright red chenille elephant patch sits on the left sleeve, and the collar reads "Wilson [size] 42." The front left tail is chain stitched in navy and reads, "Set 1-1960-9." Mild staining on the shirt may have occurred during Bauer's games. This is a truly worn jersey that, when you see it and smell it, brings you right back to Kansas City in 1960. Graded A6.
