1960 Harvey Kuenn Cleveland Indians Signed Game Used Hat
This game worn cap dates from the eight-year peak of Kuenn’s career (1953-60) when he was an eight-time All-Star, four-time hit leader, three-time doubles leader, batting champion, perennial MVP candidate, and amassed a .313 batting average. Midnight navy wool cap is adorned by a red button and a Cleveland “C” Swiss embroidered in red and white. The headband displays a Wilson tag with the size (“7”) confirmed thrice (stamped twice, flap tag). The manufacturer’s coding confirms that the cap was produced in April of 1960, suggesting that this exemplar saw season-long use. Kuenn’s number “7” appears under the brim in vintage black marker, along with “To Sal, Best Wishes, Harvey Kuenn” in NRMT black ballpoint. A great example of the ideal standard sought by cap collectors the world over, this exemplar exhibits wonderful wear but still remains in spectacular condition.
