1960 JFK-Johnson Campaign Street Banner

1960 JFK-Johnson Campaign Street Banner

This circa 1960 JFK and Johnson campaign street banner encapsulates the country’s simmering desire for “new leadership” as stated on this canvas banner that measures 19’7”x2’10”. The banner is strung with rope and is doubled sided so that its message can be read from both sides, as we are sure it was when originally displayed across main street USA for pedestrians and motorists alike. The banner is in good condition with 3-3-4” sized holes and 1-1”hole. The paint of the lettering is cracking and wearing in some spots, primarily close to the ends, but is in overall good condition. This is a stunning piece of political Americana that marks a volatile yet exciting Era in U.S. history.
