1960 Pittsburgh Pirates Team-Signed Baseball w/Roberto Clemente (PSA)

1960 Pittsburgh Pirates Team-Signed Baseball w/Roberto Clemente (PSA)

The 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates recorded a phenomenal campaign. Not only did they finish the regular season with a record of 95-59-1 to win the N.L. pennant, they bested the vaunted New York Yankees in seven games in that year’s Fall Classic. In the World Series, Pittsburgh relied on the steady bats of Smoky Burgess (.333) and Roberto Clemente (.310), while pitchers Harvey Haddix and Vern Law both picked up two wins apiece. This was quite an improvement over the ‘59 Pirates team that finished in fourth place in the N.L. standings with a 78-76-1 mark. This lot features a team-signed ONL (Giles) Spalding baseball that includes a mix of 19 signatures between both the 1959 and ‘60 Pirates rosters. Longstanding Bucs Manager Danny Murtaugh’s autograph can be found on the sweet spot, while Hall of Famers Bill Mazeroski and Roberto Clemente can be found alongside the signatures of teammates including the likes of Bill Virdon, Dick Groat, Don Hoak, Smoky Burgess, Joe Gibbon, Hal Smith, Roy Face, Vern Law, and Rocky Nelson. The signatures are all in bold blue ink and the baseball shows only slight signs of toning. Comes with LOA from PSA.
