1960 Roberto Clemente Puerto Rican Contract

1960 Roberto Clemente Puerto Rican Contract

From that magical season where Clemente won his first World Championship. This is from his heralded Winter League season following that season of greatness. Clemente would blaze the same trails for the San Juan Senadores (the New York Yankees of Puerto Rico) and for a mere $800 a month. This four-pager for the 1960-61 season is exactly like a major league contract except in Spanish. Signed by “Roberto Clemente” in beautiful, mint blue ink. The ink is literally irridescent. Below is printed by him “C4-27-Ur. El Comandante.” It is also signed by Bob Leith (twice), and Pedra Z. The contract has four punch-holes at top and shows minor wear (o/w EX) but the signatures are mint.
