1960 Ted Williams Flannel Sweatshirt From His Historic Final Season

1960 Ted Williams Flannel Sweatshirt From His Historic Final Season

Flannel sweatshirt is beautifully embroidered from his Season in the Sun: 1960. The shirt is embroidered with the all-important "Ted Williams" in nicely worn red thread. Amazingly, this name only spoken in hushed tones has been ineffectually "crossed out" with black laundry marker. The name "Conley" has been added above. This is basketballer cum baseballer (both Celtic & Red Soxer) Gene Conley, who joined the Sox in 1961. Ted Williams left after 1960, so it all makes sense. This is likely from his final season of 1960 and therefore, is one of the last pieces he ever wore. Tim McAuliffe tag in collar. Historically important piece is from one of the top Ted Williams collections in the world, and has not been offered in decades. Great wear and nice bleeding from use by both players. Bleeding like blood from this band of brothers.
