1960 Ted Williams Game Worn Cleats
Rarely does an item with such value and impeccable provenance come along. Once again, we have the honor of offering a sacred piece of game used equipment from the most adored and celebrated hitter in the history of baseball. Black cleats (no markings) were worn by The Splendid Splinter in his final major league season (one of three pairs he used that season). Originally obtained in 1960 from Joe Orlando, equipment manager for the Boston Red Sox while Ted Williams was playing and grounds keeper for the 1960 season. These cleats were stored for 30 years before they saw the light of day. Spikes still show great game use with stadium dirt remains on bottoms. Comes with LOA from the gentleman who was originally given them, as a gift from Joe Orlando’s cousin.
