1960 Vince Lombardi and Dominic Olejniczak Dual-Signed Check (PSA)

1960 Vince Lombardi and Dominic Olejniczak Dual-Signed Check (PSA)

Many commentators view Hall of Fame coach Vince Lombardi as the greatest professional football coach of all-time. Offered is an artist's image of Lombardi as a part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Collector's Limited-Edition Set, and a Green Bay Packers' check signed by Lombardi and Dominick Olejniczak, former President of the Packers. Lombardi played college football for Fordham University, and as a right guard, he was part of the famous Fordham "Seven Blocks of Granite" in 1936. After being the equivalent of what today would be called an offensive coordinator with the New York Giants, Lombardi took over a moribund Green Bay Packers franchise as the head coach in 1959, and he immediately turned the franchise around. Lombardi won five NFL Championships, including the first two Super Bowl games. Lombardi also spent 1969 as the head coach of the Washington Redskins, and he finished his NFL coaching career with a 96-34-6 regular season record and went 9-1 in playoff games. The image of Lombardi was created by artist Gary Thomas. It measures 3.75x4.25", and the back of the image (card) states that it is card #75 from Series Three of 1991 and #3304 of 5,000 sets. The signed check is a Green Bay Packers' team check, and it is dated 9-19-1960. The check is from the Kellogg Citizens National Bank of Green Bay, and it is for the amount of $50.00. It is made out to Gary Knafelc, a wide receiver and tight end for the Packers from 1954-62 who was on Lombardi's first two NFL Champion teams (1961-62). Knafelc, who passed away in December 2022, was the only player ever carried off the Lambeau Field turf by fans - when he caught an 18-yeard touchdown pass in the 1955 season opener to beat the Detroit Lions 20-17. Knaflc was also the public address announcer at Lambeau Field from 1964-2004. Olejniczak signed the check in blue ink, and Lombardi also signed in blue ink (signing as Vincent Lombardi) in his role as the Packers' general manager (in addition to coach). Both signatures are clearly written. The Hall of Fame card and the signed check are together matted at approx. 8.75x11" in attractive Green Bay Packers Green, with gold trim around the check. The offering comes with a PSA LOA. The Hall of Fame card and the signed check make a great memento of the illustrious Vince Lombardi era of Green Bay football. Comes with PSA LOA.
