1960s Baltimore Orioles Memorial Stadium Usher's Jacket

Back in the day, ushers were ubiquitous at Major League parks. They were always easy to spot, too, because they wore uniforms that included a jacket and cap, with the color scheme usually matching that of the club's uniforms. The Baltimore Orioles were no exception, as evidenced by this scarce usher's jacket dating from the 1960s. The bright orange jacket, with black trim along the collar, cuffs, and pockets, features the Orioles team logo on the left-breast pocket. An original stadium pinback button, bearing the number "827," remains clipped to the right lapel. (Each usher and food vendor was assigned an employee number, which was usually displayed on a badge or button.) The jacket displays wear commensurate with its age and former use, including a few small tears on the reverse and a missing button on the front (middle button). An attractive and seldom-seen stadium souvenir from baseball's bygone era.
