1960s Brian Piccolo Chicago Bears Jacket (Gifted by Brian Piccolo)
This stunning jacket has been on display in a worthy collection for decades and now sees light of day for the first time, worn on the sidelines by football hero Brian Piccolo before, during and after games. All importantly it comes with an LOA stating it was obtained directly from the running back himself after a Bears game in the mid-1960s. Game worn pieces of this pop culture icon simply do not exist. Style is magnificent: "CHICAGO BEARS" sewn on the back in faded orange tackle twill, left sleeve has Piccolo's all-important number "41" sewn on in the same material, King O'Shea tag in the collar and "size 48" tag in the tail. Shows very nice use in EXACTLY the right way we look for. The creation of the film "Brian's Song" and his tearful juxtaposition to legend Gale Sayers lifts Brian Piccolo out of the sports norm and into a hallowed category that transcends the sport. This delectable piece perfectly represents that worthy pantheon.
