1960s NFL Bobbing Heads Collection (11) from NFLer Lary Kuharich
Fresh to the market, this is a handpainted near set of eleven NFL bobbing heads with no restoration, no repainting, 100% all original. Teams include: Bears, Browns, Cardinals, Colts, Eagles, Lions, Rams, Redskins, Steelers, Vikings & 49ers. All are early square bases, with NFL stickers on the bottom except for Browns. All have plaster bottoms, except for Redskins, Eagles, Lions which are wood. All have "00" on their backs except for Browns and Redskins. All have team names raised on their chests and Browns & Eagles have "NFL" raised on the base. There is an NFL gold sticker on the bases of the Bears, Cardinals, Rams, Steelers & Vikings. The Redskins is badly damaged on the back of the head. As for the rest, some have a single thin line on the back of the head, otherwise all are Excellent or better. It is rare to see a set such as this all from one family, and an NFL family at that. Normally, it would take a collector decades to assemble a set such as this, and even then not one with provenance. That is a rare and beautiful thing. From this family of football royalty, Joe Kuharich played/coached for Notre Dame and was head coach of four NFL teams. He had two sons who followed in his footsteps; Joe, who was the GM of New Orleans Saints, and Lary, a former CFL & AFL coach.
