1960s Rubin "Hurricane" Carter Training Worn Headgear and Gloves - Originated from Carter (Craig Hamilton LOA)
Amazing combination worn in training by Rubin "Hurricane" Carter during the late stages of his career in the 1960s. Each glove has Spartan Sporting Goods labeling with "R. Carter" handwritten inside and both show tremendous use by the tenacious middleweight. Headgear has Tuf-Wear label with "Rubin Hurricane" handwritten on chin strap and also displays nice use. Though he only fought for a championship once - and lost - Carter gained unfortunate fame for spending 20 years in prison on a wrongful murder conviction, and his tale has spawned, books, movies, TV documentaries, and even the Bob Dylan song, "Hurricane." Includes Craig Hamilton LOA for each stating that they were purchased directly from Carter himself.
