1960s Wilt Chamberlain & Bill Russell Photograph - Battle on the Boards (PSA Type I)
Original Type I photograph capturing Hall of Fame centers Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain as they battle under the board during an NBA playoff game between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers in 1966. Chamberlain looks to have the position, but that doesn't deter Russell as he reaches over the back of Chamberlain in an attempt to obtain the ball. The date "4/6/66" is written in blue ink on the reverse, along with several other editorial markings. Research indicates that the Celtics defeated the 76ers 114-93 in Boston on April 6, 1966, which was the second game of the NBA Eastern Division Finals. The Celtics won the series four games to one en route to capturing the NBA Championship that year. The photo (7.5x9.25") appears to be slightly trimmed to its current dimensions and is otherwise in Excellent to Mint condition. Encapsulated as Type I Authentic by PSA.
